    Describes meeting William F Owen at the house of John Philip. Reports: 'Capt. Owen has been surveying the Eastern Coast of Africa, and has taken possession, in the name of his Majesty, of a large tract of country which was willingly ceded to him by the natives, in the vicinity of Delagoa-Bay' (760).
